The veterinary council of Nigeria has urged its members in Sokoto to fulfil all their registration requirements within sixty days.
The National President of the association, AIG Dr Aishatu Abubakar Baju, stated this in Sokoto during the inauguration of the state task force for the council.
She said the council empowers the task force to regulate, regularize and profile all veterinarian doctors practice in the state.
The Assistant Inspector-General of Police assured that the council will give all the required support to the committee in the full implementation of the laws.
Dr Aishatu assured that as a law enforcement officer, she will lead in the enforcement of the law.
Meanwhile, the national president of the association has disclosed that the council is working on how to make the association go digital.
She said very soon, when the council meets in October, it will roll out a digital identity card for all its members across the country.
She also said a geo-map which with the aid of an Android phone, a customer can easily locate the next veterinary office to solve his problems.
In his remarks, the state Commissioner for Fisheries and Animal Science in Sokoto State, Professor Abdulkadir Junaid, assured that his ministry will continue to cooperate with the council to improve in the discharge of its responsibility.
He said the state in her capacity to improve on the issue of cattle and other animals, not fewer than 122 veterinary doctors is currently on the payroll of the state government workforce.
