The governor stated this while speaking during the pulling out ceremony organised for Mr. Ajayi in Ado-Ekiti on Friday having attained the statutory retiring age of 60.
Fayemi who was represented by his deputy, Chief Bisi Egbeyemi extolled the virtues of Ajayi, describing him as a 5-star general, ” blessed with native intelligence and ability to manage human and material resources, which in turn has placed the state civil service on an enviable pedestal.”
He said, ” All anormalities in the Civil Service were corrected while workers have been motivated through different programmes, including training and capacity building facilitated by the retiring Head of Service.
” He is a very intelligent, efficient and cerebral Officer who gave his best to stabilize Civil Service in the state.”
Wife of the Governor, Mrs Bisi Fayemi expressed delight on the honour accorded Ajayi, noting that his contributions to the Civil Service, in particular, and the State, in general, would always be remembered.
She expressed optimism that the retiring Head of Service will soon continue to contribute his quota to the State in another capacity.
Secretary to the State Government, Biodun Oyebanji, Director General, Office of Transformation and Service Delivery, Prof Mibolaji Aluko and the Alara of Ara Ekiti, Oba Emmanuel Adedara, all showered encomiums on Ajayi with a call on other Civil Servants to emulate his sterling qualities and enviable character.
Ajayi, in his response appreciated God for giving him a second chance, after his inglorious exit during the last administration, saying God has given him double honour for his shame.
He commended the state government and other government functionaries for providing a conducive atmosphere for him to thrive. He pledged his constant support to the government and the people of the state.
According to Rotimi Feyisina, the head of media unit in the office of Head of Service in a statement said Ajayi joined the state Civil Service in the old Ondo State as an administrative Officer in 1988 and had to bow out after attaining the retiring age of 60 years.
