The national leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged people of Kwara State to be patient with the present administration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

Speaking in Ilorin at the weekend, the national publicity secretary of the party, Mallam Lanre Isa-Onilu, said that, though 100 days are not enough to assess the performance of any administration, the government had so far impressed people with its actions, decisions and policies.

Mallam Isa-Onilu said this at a special prayer session organized for the governor, minister of state for transportation, Senator Gbemisola Saraki and himself by a political group known as the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq Progressive Platform (AAPP).

APC’s spokesperson also used the forum to dispel rumours making the round in some quarters that the relationship between the trio was frosty.

Represented by one of his aides, Sarafadeen Onilu, APC spokesperson said “I want to tell you that Governor AbdulRazaq, Senator Gbemisola Saraki and Lanre Onilu are on the same page.

“I urge you people that are gathered here to relay the message to our people at home. I also want you to appeal to them to exercise patience with the administration of Governor AbdulRazaq as 100 days are not enough to judge his performance. I am confident he will soon deliver dividends of democracy to all of us in the state,” he said.

Also speaking, Coordinator of AAPP, Alhaji AbdulWaheed Aduagba, also urged the people to be patient with the governor as he takes “practical measures to right the wrongs of the past government in the state.

“Our people should not expect the old ways of doing things like giving handouts but should be more concerned with the provision of the democratic dividends for the generality of our beloved people of the state.

“The delay in the constitution of his cabinet is to avoid the mistake of the past administrations and to accommodate the interest of all necessary stakeholders in order to ensure the right people are given the right position.”

Also commenting, one of the APC stakeholders in the state, Alhaja Iyabo Eletu, said that the governor had performed creditably well.

“For now, I can give him 80 per cent pass mark. By the time he finishes his tenure, Kwarans will be saying why did this man delay in coming to power? He is a listening governor.

“I urge him to carry women along in the formation of his cabinet. We are afraid. We don’t know what becomes our fate in his cabinet. I advise him not to forget women in his appointments”.
