UNIBEN Post-UTME holds December 2 and 12, denies postponement

Authorities of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) has dispelled the rumour that the screening exercise prospective candidates for the 2020/2021 Post University Tertiary Matriculation Examination (Post-UTME) which is scheduled to hold between December 2 and 12, 2020 has been postponed.

In a statement in Benin City on Monday by the spokesperson, Dr Benedicta Ehanire, she said that the exercise will hold as planned under the supervision of the UNIBEN Consultancy Services and at the designated centres in the Ugbowo campus.

Ehanire explained that the university’s Post Direct Entry Admission Screening Exercise for the 2020/2021 academic session, billed to take place from Monday, December 14, 2020, to Wednesday, December 16, 2020, will hold also hold as scheduled.

Meanwhile, UNIBEN has been listed among 12 public universities to be given N12 billion by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund TETFund to undertake researches.

According to TETFund, the money will be shared equally among the universities is to enable them to carry out research and development programmes that would contribute to national growth.

Other universities picked include University of Abuja (UNIABUJA), University of Ibadan (UI), University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), Bayero University Kano (BUK), Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK), Akwa, University of Uyo (UNIUYO), Micheal Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, University of Jos (UNIJOS), University of Lagos (UNILAG), Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) and Uthman Danfodio University, Sokoto.
