Oja Oba/Mapo Court C Customary Court, Mapo, Ibadan, Oyo State has adjourned judgment on the divorce suit brought before it by a man, Joel Bamimore against his wife, Seyi Bamimore.
The court president, Chief Ademola Odunade after he had heard both parties stated that more evidence would be needed.
Odunade, therefore, adjourned the case till October 31.
Joel who approached the court prayed for the dissolution of their 13-year-old marriage which according to him had marred his life.
The plaintiff who expressed disdain against his wife’s behaviour said he couldn’t stick to her anymore.
Seyi conceded to divorce.
“My lord, the only antidote to my hopeless state right now is having my wife out of my home. She’s a pain in the neck and has caused me much havoc.
“She has succeeded in usurping my position in the home and therefore has no regard for me. She disrespects, insults and embarrasses me every blessed day.
”Seyi sees nothing bad in shouting on me especially in the presence of our children. She will hiss and walk out of me any time I attempt to correct her.
“My wife is violent. She gets angry easily and fights me with any dangerous object within her reach.
“She’s a harlot and has strings of lovers. She humiliates me before her lovers and always threatens to deal with me through them.
“She once moved in with an elder in her church who is her lover.
“Seyi has turned my life into a mess. I no longer have peace and rest of mind. I earnestly pray for divorce, “the plaintiff stated.
“My lord, my husband never takes care of me, “Seyi told the court.
“Joel is an ingrate. I have gone out of my way on different occasions to help him financially but he rewards me with evil.
“He’s not interested in my progress and therefore likes to restrain my movement. He monitors my movement and is fond of accusing me of adultery.
“He lied that I’m dating different men. He feels jealous and threatened seeing me with the opposite sex. I never dated any elder in my church nor moved in with him.
“My husband fights me on a daily basis and always threatens to kill me. He’s in the habit of threatening to kill me. According to him, nobody will ask him of me or make him face the law because he’s physically challenged, “she concluded.
