Nollywood actress, Stella Damasus has replied those accusing her of promoting domestic violence after she advised women to learn martial art.
Stella had earlier taken to social media to share an excerpt from a movie, which showed a woman rough-handling her husband after he tried to bully her.
Sharing the video the actress noted that she was in love with the way the woman defended herself from her husband’s bully and in her caption encouraged women to learn martial art.
However, her advise was not well received by netizens who dragged her and accused her of promoting domestic violence.
In reaction to the backlash she received the actress during an Instagram live session addressed her critics, noting that the post was not to promote domestic violence but to show a narrative different from the one which portrayed women as weak and victims.
She insisted that women should learn some martial art skills in order to defend themselves from the evil perpetrated against them by the male folks such as rape, beating and molestations.
