Daniel Deajir
The Chairman of Buruku Local Government Area of Benue State, Daniel Deajir, has died.
Deajir, 52, died Thursday evening at a hospital in Makurdi, the state capital.
Governor Samuel Ortom confirmed the loss on Friday in a statement by his spokesman, Terver Akase.
Ortom said the death was “shocking and devastating.”
He described Deajir, who was elected chairman in March 2020, as a gentleman and diligent administrator.
Ortom added that the deceased was already making a positive impact in his stewardship.
The governor consoled the people of Buruku and Deajir’s family.
He further prayed for the repose of departed soul.
