Super Eagles striker, Henry Onyekuru has been thrown into mourning after he lost his mother, Jessy Onyekuru, to the cold hands of death.

The bereaved footballer took to his Instagram page to share a candle photo accompanied with heartbreak emojis to break the unfortunate news of his mother’s demise.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) also took to their verified Twitter page to condole the footballer on Wednesday, March 7.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of @ng_supereagles forward, @c.henry7 , following the sad passing of his dear mother. May her soul Rest In Peace,” the statement said.

His Turkish club, Galatasaray have also issued a statement to express their sympathy on his mother’s death.

They wrote,

“The painful day of Henry Onyekuru. We have learned with great sadness that our footballer, Henry Onyekuru’s precious mother, Jessy Onyekuru.
“We share the pain of Henry Onyekuru and his family and extend our condolences and patience.”
