A former Military Administrator of Oyo State, Brig-Gen. Tunji Olurin (rtd.) is dead, aged 77.
A brother to the deceased, Funso Olurin, announced his death to newsmen in Abeokuta on Saturday.
According to the brother, Olurin died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital in the early hours of Saturday after a brief illness.
He was also a former Military Administrator of Ekiti State from October 8, 2006 to April 27, 2007.
He emerged the Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship candidate in the 2011 general election in Ogun State.
A Field Commander of ECOMOG Peacekeeping Force in Liberia from 1992 to 1993 during the First Liberian Civil War, Olurin retired from service in 1993.
