‘Chiniki Guard’, a startup from Nigeria has emerged the Best in AI startup Category at the ongoing 2019 Golf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, UAE (GITEX) under Future Stars award.
‘Chiniki Guard’ is an AI product (application) that detects theft and prevents shoplifting.
‘Chiniki Guard’ was developed by Abdulhakim Bashir, the Nigerian innovator.
The AI platform that can track and monitor human activity and provide real-time updates.
Bashir will be going home with $10,000.

Chiniki Guard was among the Six StartUps sponsored by National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and mentored by the Office for ICT Innovation and Entrepreneurship(OIIE); a subsidiary of NITDA.
The platform is capable of detecting and instantly prevents crimes or violations. The video analysis software can easily classify what action a shopper is taking, suspicious actions are flagged and reported instantly.
