Civil servants in Katsina state will observe today as a work-free day, the government has announced.
The Head of Civil Service in the state, Alhaji Idris Usman-Tune, said workers should to stay at home as part of measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the state.
He said that the government would review the situation in the next two days before announcing the next line of action.
Usman-Tune advised workers to stay away from unnecessary gatherings and desist from shaking hands with people.
He urged them to use hand sanitisers and imbibe the habit of environmental and personal hygiene at all times.
