Lots of lives, farmland and property running into millions of Naira were destroyed when Odekpe and Alla N’Onugwa communities in Anambra West Local Government clashed earlier in the week on Monday 20th April, 2020.

According to sources, the crisis in those communities got to a crescendo with the violent attacks that left several wounded and many more dead.

An eyewitness, Mr. Basil Okeke narrated that Odekpe raided Alla N’Onugwa at about 2:45 pm on the fateful day when they had all gone out for fishing.

Mr. Okeke said that the marauding band killed, maimed and burnt properties, as well as rape some women.

Presently, the two warring agrarian communities are taking refuge in parts of Kogi and Edo states in a time when they should be in their farms.

ElombahNews gathered that farming is the last resort of the masses owing to the damage Covid-19 pandemic has done to Nigerian economy in particular, and the world in general.
