The current crisis rocking the All Progressive Party (APC), would strengthen the party for the 2023 general elections, rather than affect it adversely.
An APC chieftain and a member of the Adamawa state house of Assembly, Abdullahi Yapak stated this in an interview with journalists.
He said the current crisis coming, three years ahead of the 2023 general elections, would afford the party men enough time to resolve all issues confronting them.
Yapak observed that the crisis is being blown out of proportion by the media as it is even actually a local affair affecting only the Edo state chapter of the party and not a national issue.
He stressed that the suspended national chairman, Adams Oshiohmole, would bounce back stronger as all the processes have not been exhausted. He added that the option of appealing to the Supreme Court is open.
The legislator disagreed that the APC is prone to incessant crisis, saying that in any case, politics is all about crisis management, ‘ that is democracy’, he added.
The member representing Eulfore Verre state constituency refuted the notion that there was also crisis within the Adamawa state chapter of the party, adding that the party was intact under the leadership of the state chairman, Alhaji Ibrahim Bilal.
On the scorecard of the PDP-led administration of Governor Umaru Ahmadu Fintiri in the state, the member , challenged the Governor to step up his acts as very little has been done by the administration in the last one year.
If we compare the this one of Fintiri administration with the first of former Governor bINDOW, you would agreed with me that fintiri has not done much and it is this record that we are confident that we (APC) would swing back to power in 2023 in the state.
