The Adamawa state has recorded three new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), barely three weeks when the state celebrated zero case.
The new infection was confirmed Sunday night by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), and made known to newsmen in Yola Monday.
The state government had last week celebrated the status of not having any active case after discharging all 42 patients who had been treated at its isolation centre in Yola.
The state COVID-19 Containment Committee Chairman, Malam Bashir Ahmed who is also Secretary to the State Government (SSG), had said the last time the state confirmed any infection was 16 days previously.
He added, during a ceremony in honour of the 42 survivors, that the state at that time did not have any active infection.
With the NCDC confirming three fresh cases for the state, however, Adamawa now has three active infections and a total of 45 infections.
The SSG had explained that the three case we’re among 19 samples of possible infections was pending from the state.
