The crisis in PDP Anambra state, today took a new turn today as the State Commissioner of Police invited the factional State Chairman, Ndubuisi Nwobu for an interview over a petition written against him by the 3 sacked officers of the party.
The officers that wrote the petition are the State Secretary, Sir Emeka Obi, the State Vice Chairman South/Chairman South Senatorial District Executive Committee, Hon. Marcel Jachin Anyiam and the State Women Leader Mrs. Callista Adimachukwu.
The petitioners alleged that there were attempts to eliminate their lives and that there has been continuous threats to their lives.
They also reported against the flagrant disobedience of subsisting valid orders of a court of competent jurisdiction by Ndubuisi Nwobu and his cohorts. The petitioners submitted the two (2) subsisting valid orders of court to the Commissioner of Police.
According to a source privy to the meeting, the CP in his opening remarks, noted that he received the said two (2) subsisting valid orders and made it clear to all present in the interview that all the parties including the Police must obey any order from the Judicial Arm of Government.
He therefore advised that all the parties should go and continue with the functions of their various elected offices and also advised them to embrace an amicable settlement of their differences especially now that the state governorship election in the state is fast approaching.
He warned that in the event the parties failed to settle and resolve their internal crisis that the Police will have no other choice than to do the needful without delay to avert any possible breakdown of law and order.
The implication is that Okolie Akirika and others who were smuggled in to replace the petitioners will have to, in the interest of PDP, vacate for peace to return in the faction of Chief Nwobu.
Those who doubted our earlier report that PDP Anambra state is in turmoil can now begin to commend our reports.
We will bring you the press release from the PDP faction led by Sir Chukwudi Umeaba in our next publication.
Below is the court order that restored the sacked PDP exco members:
