Following the increasing rape cases in Nigeria, the House of Assembly member, representing Sanga Constituency at the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Mrs Comfort Amwe suggested that death Penalty or removal of Manhood to rapists would be the only solution to curtail the heinous act on innocent Children.

The female lawmaker who stated this to LEADERSHIP in an exclusive interview in Kaduna maintained that, only capital punishment would send a strong signal to other intended culprits.

She observed that some of the desk officers in the Police Station who are saddle with the responsibility of handling rape cases are mostly compromise and subjecting the victims to unnecessary hardship by feeding the culprits.

“For an offender who inflicted severe pains and trauma on minor including her Parents would be asked to bring money or food for the offender, stressing it is unacceptable to any sane conscience.

According to her, it is so disheartening to see even minors are not spared, disclosing a six Months year old baby was raped to death in Kaduna recently.
