Ahead of the 2021 governorship election in Anambra State a community leader in the State Chief Dr Nnamdi Nwawuo who is an aspirant in the 2021 race, has promised to carry out massive rural development in the State. Speaking to Abeyanews Nwawuo urged the stakeholders in particular and the electorates in general to go for a candidate like him who is grassroots based as according to him such candidate is in a better position to provide the kind of people oriented service needed in the State.

Nwawuo who is popularly known as Igwe Ayaya said that the next governor of Anambra State should be a rural dweller in a community in the State not someone imported from outside the State noting that a rural dweller understands the problems of the people because he lives with them and had at one point passed through the suffering they are going through as a result of government neglect.

He added “It is not yet time for campaign but what I want to tell the good people of Anambra State is to start early enough to search for not just a home based candidate but a grassroots, a rural dweller like me who understands what the people that live in the rural areas as poor families, old people, teachers, farmers, petty traders, okada ridders, mechanics, carpenters, masons, tailors and children are passing through as a result of lack government presence”

He said that he was inspired to join the race because as a rural dweller he is in a better position to give the people the kind of service they are yearning for noting that people in the cities both within and outside the State are aware of the poor condition of rural communities in the State.

He said that some people in the cities are scared of visiting their home communities because of bad road noting that rural dwellers in all parts of the State have no good road network, no water, no electricity, no job from government quarters, no well equipped functional hospital and most class rooms are under dilapidated building.

The popular community leader from Nando said that if given the mandate to occupy the government house in Awka he will bring the presence of government to bear in rural communities with massive development projects on roads, agriculture, rural electrification, water, education and health and as well provide jobs.
