The Peoples Democratic Party in Kaduna State says it has received an ex-parte court or- der to postpone its congress scheduled for today.

This was made known in a press statement signed by the Caretaker Committee chairman and the sec- retary, Hon. Bashir Tanimu Dutsinma and Hon Abdullahi Ali Kano respectively. The press release was distributed to journalists in Kaduna.

According to the state- ment the party had success- fully concluded the local gov- ernment area congress last Wednesday and planned for the state congress scheduled this for Saturday August 29, 2020.

The statement explained that the party would abide by the directive of the court to postpone the congress while a new date would be an- nounced as soon as possible.
It will be recalled, that the National Working Commit- tee of the PDP had recon- stituted Kaduna State Care- taker Committee to pilot the affairs of the party.

The action of the NWC, which is pursuant to section 29(2)(b) and 31(2) (e) of the
PDP Constitution (2017 as amended), is consequent upon the expiration of the tenure of the outgoing state caretaker committee.

The reconstituted Caretak- er Committee is charged with the sole responsibility of run- ning the affairs of the party in Kaduna state until a new executive committee is elect- ed, for a period not exceeding 90 days.
