The National Peace Committee (NPC) chaired by Abdulsalami Abubakar has congratulated Edo Governor, Godwin Obaseki, for his re-election.
The former Head of State hailed the electorate and residents for their conduct.
Abubakar, in a statement, told Obaseki to reward them with good governance, justice and equity.
He also commended the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu.
Abubakar said the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies and civil society groups did “an excellent job” and made “great sacrifices”.
The statesman thanked the Oba of Benin, Ewuare II, for assisting the committee and deploying “his moral authority in the appeal for peace.”
Addressing Obaseki, NPC advised him to, “repay the good people of Edo State with all the ingredients of good governance, justice (and) equity.”
