A frontline pressure group in Anambra, Sustenance Of Faith In Governance, SOFIG, with strong grassroot presence in the 21 Local Government Areas of the State, today, at the Emmaus House, Awka, made a convincing statement with the inauguration of its Excos, and a passionate appeal to Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, Ikukuoma Ndigbo, to heed the call of the people and contest the 2021 Governorship election.
SOFIG Chairperson in Anambra, Lady Ngozi Osi Agbata, in her address, stated that the group, which believe that the present administration under Governor Willie Obiano has done exceedingly well, seeks the continuity and sustenance of such ideals.
“SOFIG is confidence that the traditional good governance, which Obiano’s administration is known for can be sustained if the mantle is passed on to Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu” she enthused.
“Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu is one personality that has proven his mettle, in both private business, political adminstration and social life”.
“We strongly and passionately appeal to Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu to heed our call and contest the Guber election in Anambra State in 2021. We pledge our support to every effort that will actualize this noble cause” she concluded.
In the same vein, the Chairman of the occasion, Chief Simon Isuorah describe Ikukuoma as the only credible and viable individual to continue where Governor Willie Obiano will stop, because all his life, he has dedicated himself to the service of those around him.
Chief Isuorah highlighted the excellent impact, Ikukuoma has made in the lives of many without him seeking unnecessary attention and praises. He vowed that the group, will stop at nothing to persuade Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, to listen to the people and answer their call.
To the Convener of the group, Hon Kingsley Ezekwelu, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, the large turnout, was an indication that the people are only ready to support a people oriented grassrooted individual, in the mould of Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu.
Ezekwelu, who stated that both, the working Governor Willie Obiano and Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, share something in common, and that’s their knack for good governance.
“Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu’s social life has always been about improving the lots of the people. He has build massive industries here in Anambra, built over 400 houses for the indigent, construct roads, etc, and above all he’s a man of God”, he stated.
According to Ezekwelu the hour and time has come, and Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu will make ndi Anambra proud by harkening to their voice and picking up the gauntlet.
With hundreds of SOFIG members at the auditorium singing and chanting, in support of Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, the dice is cast. Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, Ikukuoma Ndigbo, will be making the right decision when he listens to the clarion call.
The special guest of honour was Chief Dennis Adindu Okafor, Ezebube 2 of Ojoto and the highpoint of the occasion was the inauguration of State Excos.
