Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, has denied any link with the reported rots at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

The minister made the denial in reaction to a story published by METROWATCH Online and titled: “NDDC: Omo-Alege, Akpabio, Amaechi, Sylva Branded ‘Agents of Destabilisers’ “.

The minister, in a WhatsApp message, said: “Oga, who said this and what did I do again? I don’t know what is happening in NDDC.”

Accusing the ministers and a prominent member of the legislature, a South South group, under the aegis of South South Youth Vanguard, said that the prominent members in this present government have not made any impact on the region.

The group specifically accused the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, the Minister of State for Petroleum, Timipre Silva and the Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege of not having the interest of the region at heart.

The group said that these prominent sons from Niger Delta have not done anything for the region since they assumed position in this present government.

The group, in a statement by its National Chairman, James Efe Akpofure, said that their only interest is how to protect themselves and take advantage of the region to their benefits.

However, Amaechi vehemently denied the accusation, saying he was ignorant of developments or events happening at the NDDC.
