Malam Mahmud Jega, the Chairman of Daily Trust Editorial Board and Monday columnist has tendered a notice of resignation to the newspaper company, according to a source.
Jega’s resignation will take effect by the end of January this month, it was also learnt on Wednesday.
According to sources, Jega is set to lead a new media company called 21st Century Chronicle.
Daily Trust had in December 2019 announced Jega’s retirement as Associate Director/Deputy Editor-in-Chief.
However, the prolific writer retained his Monday column and position as Chairman of Editorial Board. Jega also handled special assignments for the paper as part of the retainership deal.
