Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has urged Nigerians to be their brother’s keepers so as to build a better country.

The governor stated this on Sunday during a service marking the 2021-Armed Forces Remembrance Day, held at the Cathedral of St. Peter, Aremo, Ibadan.

Makinde, represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mrs. Olubamiwo Adeosun, harped on the need to always support families of the fallen heroes.

He stressed the need to reflect on the security situation in the country for the purpose of devising means of tackling cases of insurgency.

“I want to congratulate the Nigerian Armed Forces on the occasion of the 2021-Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration in honour of the gallant soldiers who laid down their lives in the course of their duties to our nation and the world in general.

“Let us all make it a point of duty to remember them and their souls shall rest in peace. May God continually provide for their families,” he prayed.
