Hon, Chris Emeka Azubogu has denied that all is not well in his camp ahead of the Anambra State 2021 gubernatorial election.
Hon. Azubogu, who is vying for the 2021 governorship ticket on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), informed ElombahNews in a telephone interview that the claim is not factual, rather baseless.
A source told ElombahNews that he “authoritatively confirmed” that crisis is tearing up the camp of Azubogu who represents ndi Nnewi north, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo federal constituency in the National Assembly.
He claimed that some leaders from his Senatorial zone are beginning to leave his camp, saying that he is not “honest” with them.
The source further asserted that the disenchantment in his camp arose from alleged “dishonesty” in handling party matters especially as it concerns differences among the party leaders.
He quoted an acclaimed aggrieved party member as saying: “If Azubogu continues this way, then he is out of this election.
“He can’t continue to play all of us, thinking he is smart. No one understands when he is with you or against you.”
Another PDP leader acclaimable said: “I will join others and leave. Chris is cunny. He tries to play everybody. He is not my kind of leader.”
While another leaders was quoted as saying: “Azubogu is a good man and a good material for governorship, but he is difficult to understand.
“Those saying he is not honest are right. He has to look at their grievances and do the needful, if he wants to be taking seriously in this election.”
However, responding during a telephone interview, Azubogu said not one person has left his camp, rather, he has received many new ones.
He said: “Elombah, who told you that anyone left my camp? Mention his name, or is he faceless?
“Let the person mention the name of just one person that left my camp. Otherwise it is mere conspiracy theory.
“Let me tell you, no-one, not one person has left my camp. DO you know how many people I received just last week?
“I can assure you that my camp is intact and we are are doing just fine.”
Azubogu, who hails from Nnewi Town, in Anambra State, is vying for the governorship seat of Anambra State in the election coming up in November, 2021.
