The 55MW CCETC-Ossiomo Power Plant in Benin City has commenced supply of 24-hour electricity to the premises of the Edo State-run newspaper outfit, Nigerian Observer, which houses the Edo Creative Hub.

The move is part of the Governor Godwin Obaseki-led administration’s drive to restructure the state-owned newspaper company and provide viable space for innovative youths in the creative industry.

The General Manager of Bendel Newspaper Company Limited (BNCL), Barr. Solomon Imohiosen lauded the governor for redeeming his electioneering promise to make the state an industrial hub.

“The initiative of the Governor Obaseki-led government during his first term in office is meant to provide stable power supply to government buildings, agencies other public utilities and industries for efficient and better service delivery to the people of Edo State. We are happy that we have been connected to the state’s power reforms,” she added.
