Abia State governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has charged the fans of the state own two football clubs, Enyimba International and Abia Warriors to work harder in ensuring the clubs operate and attain the same level like Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United and the likes.
Governor Ikpeazu gave the charge at the inaugural graduation ceremony of Carl Academy and Football College, located opposite NTA in Ubakala, Umuahia South local government area of Abia State.
The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, described Abia State as investment and environmental friendly for any kind of business including sports and commended the founder and proprietor of the Carl Academy And Football College, Pastor and Pastor Mrs Emeka Inyama for their Wisdom in citing the Football Academy in Umuahia South and the state in equipping the youths with academic knowledge and skills that will make them independent and self-reliant.
He reaffirmed his administration support for investors willing to invest in the state, stating out that massive road rehabilitations and infrastructural developments are ongoing at every nooks and crannies of the state.
He appealed to graduating students to be good ambassadors of the institution and call for more awareness on the existence of the Football Academy to the outside world as well as follow up on graduating students to ensure that they excel in their chosen profession.
In his speech, the speaker of Abia State House of Assembly, Hon Chinedu Orji, said investing in the youths to be academically and skillfully relevant remains one of the hallmarks of development and advised youths to be serious with their studies in order to become responsible and champions that will do the State proud.
In his remarks, founder of Carl Academy, Pastor Emeka Inyama, said the school was a way of giving back to the society of his more than 30 years’ experience in Sports business and a deliberate effort at turning out future champions that will not only do well in sports but academics and moral upbringing.
