Okechukwu featured for 90 minutes in the home draw against Kirklarelispor.
A 95th minute goal by Deniz Atac saw the lower division side avoid defeat in the first-leg encounter.
After a frustrating goalless first half, Istanbul Basaksehir eventually broke the deadlock through Danijel Aleksic in the 80th minute.
The second-leg comes up on Tuesday January 21 at Kirklarelispor.
In another Turkish Cup round of 16 tie billed for Tuesday, former Super Eagles forward, Victor Moses, and Fenerbahce will be guests to Kayserispor.
