Carabao Cup: Iwobi Opens Everton Goal Account, Ndidi, Iheanacho Missing In Action For Leicester
Alex Iwobi scored on his first start for Everton who defeated Lincoln City 4-2 in their Europa League, second round clash at the Sincil Bank ,Lincoln on Wednesday, reports Completesports.com.
Iwobi netted Everton’s third goal of the highly entertaining encounter following a lovely headed assist from Cenk Tosun.
The Nigeria international was replaced by Theo Walcott eight minutes from time.
Lucas Digne, Gyfil Sigurdsson and Richarlison were the other goalscorer’s for Everton.
Super Eagles duo, Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho were missing in action in Leicester City’s 4-2 penalty shootout win against Newcastle United at the St James’ Park.
The game ended 1-1 in regulation time.
At the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium, Nigerian-born duo, Ebere Eze and Bright Osayi-Samuel were both in action in Queens Park Rangers 2-0 home loss to Portsmouth.
Osayi-Samuel replaced Eze on the hour mark.
