Niger Basin Authority: Buhari completes tenure

President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated President Roch Kaboré of Burkina Faso on his appointment as the Chairman, Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Niger Basin Authority (NBA).

The President spoke on Thursday at the virtual 12th summit of the regional body.

Buhari, the outgoing chair, said the institution had “the utmost confidence” in Kabore’s ability to steer its affairs for the next two years.

The Nigerian leader wished his Burkina Faso counterpart a successful tenure.

He commended NBA member states and advised them to continue to muster the courage to implement the far-reaching decisions agreed at the summit.

Buhari also expressed appreciation to the leaders and countries for their unwavering cooperation during his time in office.
