Former Liverpool player, Graeme Souness, has compared Chelsea striker, Romelu Lukaku, to Didier Drogba.
Souness said that Lukaku is potentially better than Chelsea legend, Drogba.
He believes the Belgium international can surpass his mentor and role model Drogba, who established himself as a Chelsea legend during his nine-season spell at Stamford Bridge.
Recall that Lukaku returned to Chelsea from Inter Milan this summer.
“He [Lukaku] is ready to be the main striker that Chelsea have lacked since [Didier] Drogba left in 2012. In fact, he’s potentially better than him,” Souness told The Times.
“He has everything that Drogba had and more. Drogba was a scorer of all types of goals and Lukaku is the same.
“He can get in a race with people, he can win headers at the far post, he can get across defenders at the near post, he can power his way into scoring situations that less physical centre forwards can’t.
“He’s a centre forward that centre halves will not enjoy playing against. When you are his size, normally you are static and playing with your back to goal and centre halves like that.
“What they don’t like is someone who’s stronger and quicker than them and Lukaku will be stronger and quicker than most of them.
“Chelsea have a great squad and they have cherry-picked one of the best three strikers available to improve it.”
