Shehu Sani, former Kaduna lawmaker has kicked against governors denying Nigerian citizens rights of passage to their states.

Sani, on his Twitter page, said no state had the right to deny any Nigerian access despite the Coronavirus pandemic.

According to the Kaduna former lawmaker, denying Nigerian citizens access to or through a state shows symptoms of ‘secession’.

Sani wrote: “No state has the right to deny Nigerian citizens from other states the right of passage to or through. Doing so is symptomatic of secessionist tendencies.

“This is what groups accused of plotting or planning secession were told sometimes ago.”

His statement is coming at a time the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wife shut down Carveton Helicopters over suspicious operation in the state.

Wike on Wednesday ordered the local government council chairmen to close the offices of Carveton Helicopters across the state.

He said his move was in order to protect the residents of the state against Coronavirus.

However, the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, condemning the arrest of Carveton Helicopter pilots, and passengers on board the concerned flight, said those who accompanied Governor Wike usurped the authority of the Commander-in-Chief, President Muhammadu Buhari.

Sirika said Carveton was issued the necessary approvals to fly, adding that the aviation sector was on the exclusive list.
