US moves against TikTok, other apps
The United States has said that it was considering a ban on some Chinese apps, including TikTok.
Secretary of State, Mike Pompeop, spoke on Fox News Channel.
The senior official said the State Department was “looking at it, while warning that users’ data would allegedly be given to the government in Beijing.“
Noting that many Chinese apps are on people’s cell phones, Pompeo assured that the US will get it right”.
He disclosed that America had been pushing for a ban against Chinese technology home and abroad.
TikTok, in its reaction, explained it does not share user data with the Chinese government.
“We have never provided user data to the Chinese government, nor will we do so if asked,” it declared.
