Diezani on Yahoo boy: Take message, leave messenger – Buhari’s aide, Bashir
Bashir Ahmad, a media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to the viral video of Diezani Alison-Madueke, a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, saying that internet fraudsters, popularly known as Yahoo Boy, have become role models in Nigerian society.
Diezani warned that the new trend ‘Yahoo Yahoo’ is a travesty of an unfolding tragedy for Nigeria, adding that only hard work could guarantee success.
The former minister said this while delivering a lecture at a virtual event organized by the Ijaw National Development Group.
Her statement has since stirred reaction from Nigerians especially coming from a former minister who is under trial for alleged fraud.
Reacting, Bashir Ahmad urged Nigerians to only take the message and ignore the messenger.
On his Twitter page, the presidential aide wrote: “ Diezani on Yahoo Boys; great message, so take the message and leave the messenger, since the message ≠the messenger!”
