Ekiti: Man allegedly lures 14-year-old to school premises, rapes her
A 38-year-old man, Oladimeji Ayodele, was on Tuesday remanded at the Correctional Centre on the orders of an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrate for the alleged rape of a fourteen-year-old girl.
The defendant, of no fixed address, is standing trial on charges of rape.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp. Johnson Okunade told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Aug. 8 in Ado-Ekiti.
Okunade said the defendant lured the girl to a school and raped her, NAN reports.
According to the Prosecutor, the offence contravened Section 2 (2) of the Ekiti State Gender-Based Violence Prohibited Law 2019.
The prosecutor asked the court to remand the defendant in a correctional centre pending legal advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP).
Chief Magistrate, Mrs Olanike Adegoke, in her ruling rejected the defendant’s plea.
Adegoke adjourned the case until Sept. 7 for mention
