
The number of COVID-19 related deaths in Africa has hit 37,000.
Africa Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) made the announcement on Tuesday.
The number of positive cases in Africa is 1,518,662.
The body said 1,256, 284 have so far recovered.
Countries most affected by coronavirus are South Africa, Egypt, Morocco, Ethiopia, and Nigeria.
South Africa tops the list with 682, 215 cases and 17,016 fatalities.
Morocco is second with 134,695 cases; 2,369 deaths.
Egypt has recorded 103,781 cases and 5,990 deaths.
In Ethiopia, 1,230 people have died out of 79,437 cases.
In Nigeria, there have been 59,465 infections, and 1,113 fatalities.
