How Frank Lampard made Tammy Abraham at Chelsea

Tammy Abraham has risen in his career at Chelsea, thanks to the immense support he’s getting from his manager, Frank Lampard. It’s obvious that Tammy is a favourite player to the Blues boss as the former legendary Midfielder has rallied around the player.

Tammy started last season, struggling as he fired blank against Manchester United when they (Chelsea) lost 4-0 at Old Trafford. All these permutations saw the pressure built on the team as well as on the young player, Tammy.

Things looked to have gone from bad to worse as he failed to score against Liverpool in the Super Cup during the regulation time.

He went on to miss the spot (decisive one) for Chelsea which crowned Liverpool winners on that European Night.

It was like hell was brooding over the young player with the player relatively downcast following the racist abuse (comments) he received after the game.

He was likened to Lukaku (Romelu) who did the same by missing the decisive spot-kick that saw Chelsea lose out the same trophy 7 years ago against Bayern Munich.

The scenario prompted many to think that Tammy Abraham would leave Chelsea just like it happen to Lukaku after his own penalty debacle.

However, Lampard stepped in like a senior colleague, playing a father figure to sustain the striker’s confidence down in the season. Lampard helped Tammy to pull through the scenario at that lowest moment and the rest is history for all Premier League viewers.

It was a turning point in Tammy Abraham’s career as the supposed near success syndrome-like that of Romelu Lukaku at Chelsea was turned around by his manager who believes so much in his God-given talent.

This was the actual tonic the player had wanted for his confidence today, the young English forward can be touted as one of the best strikers in the game owing to his form on the Blue shirt.

He scored a brace against Sheffield United in the 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge early on the last term. He followed it up with a defining hat-trick as Chelsea defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-5 at the Molineux Stadium.

All this silenced the critics even as he’s gone on to make his competitive debut for the three lions of England.

Despite interest from the Nigeria football quarters, he marked his competitive match for England with a goal as Gareth Southgate’s men defeated Montenegro 7-0 at Wembley Stadium.

He’s risen to a good point as a player; all thanks to Lampard’s support and team modification as a manager. He completed Chelsea comeback in the dying moment of Chelsea’s 3-3 draw away at the Hawthorns at West Bromwich Albion last month.

This and more should be expected likewise from other managers especially as this has awakened the giant (Davidic strength) in the talent Tammy Abraham has got as we have seen in Chelsea this season.
